This project is an ad series for the REAP Food Group’s Pie Palooza event. The event is all about the community coming together to enjoy pie while supporting REAP’s programs which promote the inclusion of healthy, local, sustainably grown foods in schools, restaurants, food stores and home kitchens. My goal was for this series to feel homespun as a compliment to REAP’s focus on natural & organic food—which meant having to learn to make a pie crust. I shot roughly 12 variations, including shots with butcher paper, various fruits, and variations on typography, but it wasn’t until I exposed the wood underneath that this final shot came together.

The objective of this project was to create a book based on a site in Milwaukee. I chose the Grand Cinema in downtown Milwaukee. I visited the site to photograph it and to discuss the history and current state with the maintenance manager of the building. The book to begins with a full color photo, representing the creation and thriving times of the theatre. As the pages go on, the images become desaturated to represent the vacant state of the theatre today.

we’ve been having some weird problems with our posts not appearing on peoples dashboards and note counts not showing up properly, so we’ve had to pause the queue for a while whilst tumblr resolves the issues!

we’re still taking submissions and queuing them up but we won’t publish them until the problem is fixed.
